About storm chaser Shawna Davies

Shawna Davies lives north of the the Kansas City area in Trimble, MO and is both a mother and experienced storm chaser.  She has chased storms since the late 1990's.  Her interest in severe weather began as a girl when her family had a close call with a tornadic supercell storm near Lawrence, Kansas.  She enjoys speaking to grade school kids about storms and severe weather, and loves to help kids to get interested in weather and science.  Because men far outnumber women in storm chasing, she encourages girls not to be shy about their interest in science, and hopes to see more women become storm chasers.
